Get best players
Just play in season or franchise mode. Then offer trades for the best players, then override their rejections if they happen to refuse.

Easy homeruns
When you are batting with a good home run hitter, just make sure the ball is being pitched in the red area of your strike zone. Then move your batting pointer precisely below the ball. Swing your bat for a better chance of a homerun.

To hit home runs a lot easier, place the batting cursor under the ball, not on it but off of it.
