Getting good players Use this trick to get a team in franchise
mode with no high salary cost. Start a new franchise. Then pick a team. Do a
fantasy draft and pick every worst player. Then,
release everyone and make your team from scratch, through create-a-player
mode. Once your done with the height, faces, etc., do not alter the
attributes. Save the player and sign him. Once you sign him, return to create-a-player. Select his name and change all his attributes
to the max. Redo this until you have a stacked team. The reason
that all the worst players were selected is to keep you from having
a high cap penalty in the next season.
As you well know, in franchise mode you can find every player with
the longest contracts and upgrade all their stats before you go
into franchise mode. However, what you may not realize is you can
sign players of big talent to the most useless of contracts
once in franchise mode. For example, if two years into the franchise
you cannot afford a high priced running back, create a safety and put
"Tackle" down completely and set the others to max all the requirements
for a soon to be All-pro back. You can sign him to a seven
year $1.96 million contract. You can also do this with all positions.
For example, a wide receiver, create a quarterback and lower
"THA" and "THP".
Easier sacks Just be a defensive lineman and back up a
couple of feet. When the play starts, run forward and hitsick an offensive
lineman. He will fall down and your person will still be running towards the
quarterback. Then you can sack him.
Easier touchdowns Simply take the best wide receiver on your team
and put him in the tightend position. Now audible his route so he does a fly
route. Because he has a low overall rating, they might have a line backer on him
or he might not be covered. Throw it to him and he will easily be able to get by
the defense.
Easier blocked field goals and punts When your playing against the CPU and it is a punt or field
goal situation, switch to the end player on defense. If the other
punt team is in a regular punt formation, select punt block on
defense. The offense will change to a protection formation. If
not and before the last player makes his adjustment,
he will put his hands on his knees. If you begin to charge at the
kicker you should not receive a penalty if timed right. You will
get an extra jump on the kicker and should tackle him or block
the punt or field goal.
Punting Due to the fact that the punt blockers do not like
to block much, you should select the "Punt Block"
formation instead of any other punt return formation. With the
"Punt Block" formation, the punting team will not be
spread out, and this will allow your blockers to block for you; which in turn
will give you more time to field the ball and have some space to start your
plays.
Onside kicks This trick will work with any kicker. When you are kicking
off, select "Onside Kick" when the return team is changing
formation. When they are set, take the power bar to
the top, but do not select it. Bring it down so that
the power is at 31. Next, make your accuracy 97 to 99. The ball
will hit the ground and go straight up in the air each time. Then, have one of your Kick Off that is close to the ball sprint toward
it. This will make all your players follow, and you will get it each
time.
If happen to be playing as either Donovan McNabb or Daunte Culpepper
and you are tackled into the endzone scoring a touchdown, they
will do their trademark dances. Daunte will "get his roll
on" and Donovan will do the moonwalk.
When your playing as the Steelers and Antwaan Randle El
makes a touchdown,
press X. He will make a showoff jump, and after that he
will do the same slide as he did in the 2002 Divisional
Playoffs against the Browns, after he returned a punt for a touchdown.
Player nickname When you have a player named Troy Siegel, Al Micheals will call him "Simian"
in his commentary when he makes a play.
Sign created player with high attributes for three years When you create a player, make him a free agent. Then,
set his attributes to 75. Next, sign the player for any team
you like. Go to that team's rosters and modify his attributes. You
can make it as high as 99. When you go to franchise mode with
the team the player you created will be on the team with a contract
for three years.
Easy training camp points When your on offense, select an offense with three receivers.
Trip Bunch in Single Back formation works well. Then put the defense
on goal line Zone CB cover. By doing this, no one will rush your
QB, and once your receiver gets beyond the zone, they are left alone
in the endzone for a sure 48 points per play almost always. This should work with most short zone coverages and
does not take many tries to learn which receiver to pick, mostly
anyone running a long slant.
Booth review under two minutes When your under two minutes in the second or fourth quarter,
when a play is questionable press R + L when you
go back to the play selection screen. Booth will then review the
play most of the time it will be overturned.
Touchdown celebrations When your playing as the Eagles against the Ravens and
score a touchdown using T.O., dive in the endzone by pressing
X. He will do a Ray Lewis
dance in the endzone.
Easy first round first pick Do this in franchise mode to have a good rookie
draft pick. First go to create a player. Make his age 45. Set his years
pro at 27. He will not need a name, leave it at "New Player".
Skip "Build", "Appearance", and "Equipment".
Then, go to attributes and set "Awareness" to 99. Then, go
to "Throw Power" and "Throw Accuracy" and
set them both 99. Now exit and save your created player. Then, sign
the player. Trade him to the team with the first round first pick.
You should have the first pick in the draft, about 99% of
the time.
Use this trick to get the first pick in every round in
the draft. First, turn off the trade deadlines. Then, trade every pick with the team with the worst record before the wild
card week. You will receive of their picks, and if you have a
good season, you can even trade one of your picks for two of theirs.
Create low paid all-star QB Simply create a punter or kicker with all his
attributes set at maximum, including passing. You will sign him for a low salary
because he is a kicker. Then, set him as the starting quarterback on the depth
charts as the season starts. You will now have the best kicker/punter and QB in
the league. You can also maximize every passing attribute and take the kicking
attributes down to sign him at a lower price.
Making players suffer If there is a player you don't like, do this to make him suffer: Go to "Features", then to "Rosters".
Select his team then choose the player and go to "Attributes".
Lower his injury to "0". This may take some time, so you
may also want to set the game to four or five minute quarters.
