Hints & Tips

Step-Over and Kick Ahead
Simply hold L1 when you have possession of the ball.

Shimmy
Simply tap L2 when you have possession of the ball.

Double pass
Press X(2x's) while playing a game to pass to a nearby teammate.

Spin around
Tap L1 when you have possession of the ball.

Shimmy and Kick Ahead
Hold L2 when you have possession of the ball.

Kick Ahead
Press R1(2x's) when you have possession of the ball.

Easier goals
When your are set up to shoot on goal inside the opposing team's area, aim the Analog-stick at the corner flag and shoot. Roughly 90% of the time, the player will stick it in the top corner, away from the arms of the goalkeeper.

Dribble the ball to the side until you get to the end, but do not go out of bounds. Then, press Square if you have any players in the center. If you do not, wait but do not let the ball be stolen from you. When you do press Square and hit the ball, press Down + Circle and keep on pressing it. Now one of your players in the middle will either header, volley, or bicycle kick the ball. Also the harder you press Down + Circle, the more powerf the shot will have.

Limping player
If one of your players happens to start limping, press Start and go to "Substitution". The limping person will have a green card beside his name.

Start game quicker
When your at the main menu, go to" Quick Game" instead of "Exhibition". You will not have to scroll through all the settings. If you do not like the teams, press Triangle and go to options. Choose "Custom Quick Game" and choose both your team and the CPU's team. Note: This can also work if you turn off the PlayStation2 and turn it back on if you have saved.

Perfect team
First go to the "Edit Team" menu and choose your team. Then, go to "Edit Player". Pick a player, then select "Replace Player". Locate 50's Madrid and select De Stefeno. Do this with as many players as you like. You can also change his appearance and name if you want.

Suggested players
The two best players in the game are Alfredo di Stefano, striker, skill level of 82 (50's Madrid) and Johann Cruyff, free roll, skill level of 82 (70's Amsterdam).

Scoring a penalty
A square will appear on the screen. Now hold Circle until the top of the yellow meter gets to the two lines in the middle. While doing this, hold the direction in which you wish the ball to go.
