Alternate costumes
Finish Story mode completely with any character, then highlight that person when your at the character selection screen and press Circle. Note: Press Triangle for the Japanese version of the game.

Obtain a 100% completion with all fifteen default characters and a created character. Then, choose the other costume for your character, and every opponent will also wear their other costumes.

To access four more models for a created character, train a new general and obtain any weapon to an attack rating of 55 by the fourth month. Beat the Strike Ninja that will appear to challenges your school, then finish your training. This can be done up to three more times to access a total of four new models for your created character.

Fight as Goemon
Finish Okuni's campaign completely.

Fight against Hattori Hanzo in New Officer Mode
If you happen to have 130+ Jump and you choose Combo Training, you may come across Hanzo. If you beat him you receive the rare item, Provisions which will revive you from death once in a battle and restores your health to half. This is the only way to obtain this item.

Fight as Magoichi Saika
Finish character's campaign completely.

Fight against Magoichi Saika in New Officer mode
If you happen to have a high Ranged Attack above 65 and select Archery, you could be challenged by Magoichi. If you beat him, your ranged attack weapon becomes a rifle instead of a bow and arrow.

Fight as Masamune
Finish two character's campaigns completely.

Fight against Masamune Date
When your in new officer mode, keep on do riding. In time Masamune Date appears, becomes agitated, and decides to fight you.

Fight as Keichi Maeda
COmplete Kenshin Uesugi's story mode. When you reach the Siege Of Gifu castle level, a mission will appear saying to eradicate Keiji Maeda. Do not do this. After you finish the level, you will appear in Gifu Castle. When you get to the fourth level, Keiji Maeda and Nobunaga Oda will be waiting for you. Then, kill Nobunaga Oda to finish the level. When you finish the Showdown At Kawankajima level and the credits are over, a screen should appear stating "You have accessed Keiji Maeda.

Fight against Keiji Maeda in New Officer Mode
When your creating a new officer, if your attack strength with any weapon is 68 or above, Keiji may show up to challenge you if you happen to select Swordsmanship training. Keiji is powerful, and the weapon you fight with varies. If you beat him, you may receive the Reach skill for free.

Fight as Kunoichi
Finish Hanzo Hattori's and Shingen's campaigns completely.

Fight as Nobunaga Oda
Finish Oichi's, Magoichi's, and Noh's campaigns completely.

Fight as Noh
Finish Ranmaru Mori's campaign completely.

Fight against Lu Bu
Reach the sublevel 30 in the Abyss in survival mode, then reach the blue map square.

Use the Death element on your weapons
Gather all five volumes of "The Book of Five Rings" with a created character.

Nobunaga Oda True Musou Combo
This combo will only work against officers because they do not go into slow motion during a Musou. Now press Square, Triangle(3x's). Then in a true Musou, this combo will cause severe damage to an officer, and maybe even deplete his life bar. It is effective in hard mode.

Fight as Okuni
Finish Keiji Maeda's campaign completely.

Fight as Ranmaru Mori
Finish Mitsuhide Akechi's campaign completely.

Fight as Shingen
Finish Sanada's campaign completely.

Quick stand from falling
Press L1 right away to stand faster from a fall. 

Rare item
Rare items can be obtained by any character on any level in story or free mode.

Arabian Saddle
When your in Yukimura's story Scenario 5A, put a stop to and beat Masamune Data before he goes into the castle. Do this prior to the falling of the northwest fortress. A supply unit will appear on the left side of town and move north.

Battle Drum
When your in Okuni's story, Scenario 4, hit a select drum a definite number of times. The drum to hit is in the northwest camp.

Body Guard Manual
When your in the new officer campaign in the Siege Of Osaka on Yukimura's side, finish every objective until Yukimura charges into the enemy camp. Once he has charged, follow him and there will be an ambush inside the enemy's castle. After you repel the ambush, a special item will appear on one of the right side gate captains. He will move slowly to the east and you should be able to catch him on foot.

These books are found in Survival Mode Abyss.

Element Rune
When your in Kenshin's story, Scenario 3, achieve 1,000 KOs. A supply unit will show up on the east side of the region.

Gold Incense
When your in Noh's story, Scenario 5A, the first mission is to beat Kunoichi. Let her go. You will have a chance to beat her a second time. Note: If you beat her the first time, the item will not be available. After beating Kunoichi, beat Ranmaru Mori at the end of the third floor. The Gold Incense will now appear as an item. The spot will be marked with a green "X" on the map.

Horse Armor
When your in New Officer mode, Scenario 3, when you are given the mission to do away with Nobunaga Oda, enter his camp within one minute. The supply unit will show up inside the camp.

Kankestuba Saddle
When your in Sanada Yukimura's summer campaign at Osaka, follow every mission up to and including and stopping Date Masamune from entering the castle. A supply team will appear from the gate in the west of the center and move towards the gate east of the center.

Lantern
When your in Kunoichi's story, Scenario 4, do not get to the fourth sub-level until fifteen minutes have gone by. It will be found as treasure on the forth sub-level.

Matsukaze Saddle
When your in Takeda Shingen's stage, Attack On Azuchi Castle, beat Akechi Mitsuhide then go into the castle from the east side. Beat Maeda Keiju within one minute of when he appears. As soon as you do, the supply team will appear next to Maeda Katsuie's spot and move towards the gate next to Niwa Nagahide's position. Get there and cut them off. They will disappear fast so run there, ignoring the enemies.

Easy health
When you are fighting and your health becomes red, run in circles and let your Musou charge up. Then, turn around and do your true Musou attack. Redo this until there are enough people for you to handle, the enemy officer is dead, you find health, or you get health because of a dark elemental weapon.

Regain horse's full health
Whenever your horse is ready to die or has some harm done to it, get off, then get back on. The horse's health will be full once again.

War Ration
To receive War Ration easier, first use a male or a female model. Name him or her Kunoichi. You should start with a Jump of 115 to 118. Then, play burst, where you have to solve the maze using only a sword. Try to finish the stage without being hit, with at least 1:00 to 1:12 left. You then should have a rating of "Great" or "Good", and Jump should raise by 3 to 4. Keep doing this until you reach 130 Jumps and Goemon could appear. Watch out for the gun in expert mode it may kill you in just three shots.

Easy third or fourth weapons
An easier way to receive a decent third weapon or your fourth weapon for anyone is to play through Hanzo's story. Then while in free mode, play the Ueda Infiltration within the hard or chaos difficulty settings. You will get a few good items and weapons. Note: Do not try this unless your character is strong or you already have a decent weapon and items Kuniochi is hard.

An easier way to receive a level 4 weapon is to go to free mode within any difficulty setting, then select Okuni's Tale. Reach the final scenario on part A. Finish the mission, and at the third level there will be a big octagon-shaped room. In the middle is a platform. Go all the way to the other side of the octagon to find a break in the handrail. Now jump on the platforms to the center receive a level 4 weapon. Then, finish the rest of the stage.

To receive third or fourth weapons, first choose free mode. Then, choose the character you like. Then select Mitsuhide's Tale, and finally choose Gifu Infiltration. Pass through the stage until you reach the floor where you fight Ranmaru Mori. Then go out to where he is at, then go to the right side of the room. Then attack the crate on that side to get a new weapon. This should give you a third or fourth weapon.

Use this trick to obtain level 4 weapons for low level characters easily. First, obtain Shingen and go to his story mode. When you reach to the Siege Of Azuchi Castle level, stop the fire attack, beat Mitsuhide to Nobunaga, then let Mitsuhide join your side. After this, let him die while he is retretaing. Then, kill everyone else and you will access the Kawanakajima Showdown level. After finishinf Kawanakajima Showdown, go to free mode and grab any general. When you start, go straight down to the bottom left where Keiji is at. If you wait until he attacks he is harder. He is still easy, but becomes more annoying if you wait. Kill him and grab his weapon, then kill Kenshin to finish the level. This will work most of the time. If it does not work the first time, keep trying it.

Another easy way to obtain a good fourth weapon is to have a second player with you in free mode. Player two should be a rank 1 character, because the game sets the difficulty somewhere between the levels of the first and second player. This makes killing generals a tad bit easier.

To obtain high level 4 weapons, play through story mode using Hattori Hanzou and Goemon. Then go to "Free Play", then Goemon. Select "Goemon's Tale", and play Osaka Intrusion. Locate every treasure on the first floor. The "Valuable Item Found" message will appear. Go back to the start of the level and pick up the item. It will be a Guiding Doll. Note: There is more treasures than the amount needed; find them all. Complete the mission, and you will receive the Doll. Next, change the difficulty to Hell, go to "Free Play", and choose the character for which you want them to have a good level 4 weapon. Select "Hattori Hanzou's Tale", then Ueda Infiltration. All you need is the Guiding Doll equipped, along with any other parts, and a level 3+ weapon. Note: Kunoichi is hard, you may want a high level character. Assemble all information on every level of the castle, then go to the last floor. Get the last treasures, then go into the room with the secret letter. After that mission, you should receive several items with high stat boosts and two to four weapons, also with high stat boosts.

Level 5 weapons
You can earn a level 5 weapon within any difficulty setting.

Hanzou Hattori
Weapon: Night Fang "Underworld"
Stats: Base Attack 46, Night Element, Musou +40, Ranged Attack +45, Movement +42, Jump +32
In the battle of Mikatagahara, the objective is to withstand the Takeda army's battle formation. Once the stage starts, lure Naitou Toyomasa and Yamagata Masakage forward and beat them. Then, beat Oyamada Nobushige and immediately move towards Baba Nobufusa's spot. Beat him without letting Hirote Hirohide get beaten. Anayama Nobukimi and Takeda Katsuyori will come towards youso beat them alsol. You cannot allow any of your allies be beaten. Infiltrate the enemy camp using the ninja route, then take all the enemy gates and the supply team will then appear. They appear to the east of your home camp and move west. Beat the captain for the weapon. Shingen will start retreating once you take all of the gates. It may be wise to wait until your allies are close to his camp before taking the last gate to get in his way.

Masamune Date
Weapon: Periwinkle "Mikaboshi"
Stats: Base Attack 46, Ice Element, Attack +45, Mounted Attack +35, Musou Gain +32, Attack Radius +39
In the Intrusion of Honnouji, reach the temple before Mitsuhide. Beat Mitsuhide's generals, then beat Mitsuhide himself. Next, beat all of Nobunaga's generals and subgenerals. Finish all this without any of your own generals being lost and the supply team will appear in the temple, running for Nobunaga's exit point. Beat the captain to pick up the weapon.

Mitsuhide Akechi
Weapon: Sacred Sword "Futsumitama"
Stats: Base Attack 47, Lightning Element, Attack +42, Musou +37, Defense +46, Attack Radius +28
In the Battle of Yamazaki upper version, first beat Nakamura Kazuuji and the guard captains on Tennouzan . A mission will appear to help Matsuda Masachika towards the south. Do so by beating Nakagawa Kiyohide and Takayama Shigetomo. Next, clear the Tennouzan of enemies before the Maeda Keiji charge or enemy reinforcements events show up roughly five minutes into the battle. If you do so, a supply team will appear close to the enemy commander, heading towards the cave up north. Beat the captain for the weapon.

Keiji Maeda
Weapon: Jeweled Halberd of Heaven
Stats: Base Attack 50, Lightning Element, Life +50, Attack +46, Mounted Attack +44, Musou Gain +25
In the Test of Kawanakajima beat every enemy general and subgenerals but not the commander. The supply team will show up in the southwest and move towards the north exit point. Bat the captain for the weapon.

Kunoichi
Weapon: Kushinada
Stats: Base Attack +45, Ice Element, Life +37, Musou +45, Ranged Defense +49, Jump +29
Kunoichi's weapon is very easy to get, because you do not have to kill anyone.. In the Rescue Of Ueda Castle, reach the fifth floor in under three minutes without beating any enemies. A precious item report will appear. Go to the northwest, and the weapon will be in one of those rooms.

Nobunaga Oda
Weapon: Aramasa of Orochi
Stats: Base Attack 48, Night Element, Musou +45, Attack +26, Mounted Attack +49, Attack Radius +35
In the Battle of Okehazama, beat the two front-line guards of the Imagawa army. A mission will appear to help Hideyoshi. Ignore it and let him be beaten. Next, beat Imagawa's generals until he has two left. Hanzou will show up and run towards the enemy base as support. Reach the base first and the supply team will appear near the southwest, near Hideyoshi's original spot. Beat the captain for the weapon. Hanzou is fast. You might need a horse.

Yukimura Sanada
Weapon: Fire Lance "Susanoo"
Stats: Base Attack 47, , Fire element, Life +50, Musuo+27, Attack+48, Defense+38
Beat 1,000 enemies in the Summer campaign of Osaka. Clear these missions: Luring the two generals in front of your cannons, returning to home base, and preventing Masamune Date from going into the castle. At this point, the mission to charge into the enemy camp will appear. Take this chance to beat as many enemy generals as you can and build your kill count. Then, charge into the enemy camp and continue towards 1,000. A supply team will appear near the southwest of the map and move towards the east gate of the castle. Beat the captain to receive the weapon.

The level 5 weapons can be obtained after the story mode of that player has been finished within the hard difficulty setting.

Getting good weapons
When your in the Abyss, go down a few levels and you will obtain a few good weapons.

Easy items
An easier way to obtain items is to play the Abyss survivor game. If you get Hanzo ato rank 20 with a level 4 weapon, you can run through the dungeon easily. It is beter if Hanzo has level 2 or 3 "healing items are stronger" skill. Also just make sure Hanzo has the mastery skill where True Musou is available. If the weapon has the Flame element on it, the Musou will create jets of fire around Hanzo. If you run through the tower sub-levels straight to the next staircase down, you can clear the floor in roughly a minute and a half. After three sub-levels, you can save or go on. If you do go deeper, the items are better, but the opponents get harder. If you see an officer that is not blocking the stairs, kill him as he usually has healing items.

To get good items easily, set the game difficulty to the chaos setting. Then in the Kunoichi;s four level, "Rescue At Ueda Castle", walk around and grab every item and weapon you can find. You do not have to kill one general. At the end you will find Hanzo Hattori fighting with Yukimura Sanada. Leave them be, and when Sanada gets hurt he will escape and you will complete the level without killing one general.

Easy experience
If you are using a level 4 weapon you can claim better experience, even if you are not skilled. Just use the Charge Attack power on an officer. When he becomes dizzy, attack him with Musou and you will receive 1,000 experience after he is beaten.

Guiding Doll
When your in Goemon's story, Scenario 4A, gather up all treasure on the first floor. The item will show up as a treasure.

Hachiman Bell
When your in Masamune Date's storym Scenario 5B, on the third floor, locate every false staircase before you find the real one. After all false staircases are located, the item will show up on the map as a treasure.

Healing Balm
When your in Survival Mode Tower, clear all of the thirty floors. You will be awarded the rare item. A maxed out character is a good idea.
