Cheat mode
At the main menu press Square(2x's), Circle(2x's),
L1(2x's),
R1(2x's), L2(2x's),
R2(2x's). There
will be no verification. Start a game then pause and enter
the options screen. The "Cheats" option will be available
at the options menu, with "Trooper Level", "Enemy
AI", and "Mission List" selections. Note: Do not
set the "Trooper Level" option to "Full",
as one bullet hit will remove half of your life away.
Reverse aiming
This code has to have a USB keyboard. Press Y
while playing.
Pause game play
This code has to have a USB keyboard. Press X to
freeze the game. Then press Start to resume
playing.
Toggle damage
This code requires a USB keyboard. Press K
while playing to toggle damage.
Display debug position and rotation
This code has to have a USB keyboard. Press L
while playing to show your position and rotation.
Display menu
This code has to have a USB keyboard. Press \ to
toggle the menu.
Hints & Tips
Lights Out: Easy tank kill
When you are inside the fort (by entering the sewage), you
will come across your first tank stationed on top of the bridge.
Instead of going up the steps, have Jones lay the C4 underneath
the bridge. This will save you both health and time.
Lights Out: Easy completion
When you are at the tunnel, go to the end and with Foley. Shoot
a rocket at the wall and a walkway should come into sight. Walk through
and you will finish the level.
Patriotic Defense: Hidden RPG and light machine gun
Switch characters to Jones, who is defending the rear.
You will see a tunnel to the left. Go in it. Once the tunnel stops,
keep going into the next one. When an Iraqi comes into view, shoot him
then make a right turn. You can go either straight or left. Go
to the left to locate a hidden RPG and light machine gun against
the wall you are facing when you come out. If you went in the
proper direction, there should also be a truck at that spot.
Cavalry Charge: Destroying ZSUs
Instead of shooting the ZSUs with an anti-tank launcher,
shoot them by using a sniper gun. They should blow-up. You can now
"paint" the tanks so an air strike can blow them up.
Lights Out: Killing General Aziz
When you are attempting to kill general Aziz at the end,
take out the "laser" and lock on so it turns red. He
will run out. Take him out by using a sniper, then evacuate.
When you call in an artillery strike on General Aziz's underground
bunker, an alarm will alert the town. General Aziz will then run
out of the bunker. You have to shoot him before he can escape.
Connors is suggested for this trick. Have one of the others
off to the side, near the exit to your extraction area. Have Connors
directly in front of the doors to Aziz's bunker, but back as far
as he can be from the doors. Have your first squad member "lase"
the bunker for the airstrike, then switch to Connors before the
doors to the bunker open. When the doors open, have Connors
open up on Aziz and his two guards with either a machine gun,
or have him launch a RPG/rocket into the bunker.
At the end of the mission when you have to kill General Aziz,
have Jones plant a Tank Mine just at the front of the bunker doors.
Plant the other C4s near the end of the path leading towards
the bunker doors in a straight line towards the Tank Mine. Have
Jones at the top, looking down at the bunker ready to detonate
the C4s. Have Connors at the escape door just in case you fail to
kill Aziz right away.
When you reach the point where you must "paint" the
building General Aziz is in, have Jones or your demolition man
plant an anti-tank mine in front of the door so that
when the bodyguards come out they will be killed instantly.
Then, place your one mine slightly farther back so that
when Aziz comes out, he is also killed right away. You can also
lay a stick of C4 a few feet behind the last mine so that you
can detonate it if the mine does not kill Aziz.
Patriotic Defense: Killing the sniper
On your way up the stairs to the marketplace, there
is a sniper behind the stairs. Well you can take him out without
being hit. At the start, where the hidden tank at,
is a walk-way to the left. Follow it to the end then make a left.
At the end is a staircase. Go up it and you will see the sniper.
Take out your knife and kill him silently to receive stealth points.
Rescuing your teammates
If a member of your team does go down, he will fall to
the ground and will not be able to move or defend himself. When
the first health meter is gone, that teammate will fall to the
ground and a dark red health meter will take the place of the
normal health meter. This health meter will slowly lower. It
is critical that you eliminate all hostiles around the downed
teammate before you advance to try and heal him. if you do not
take out all the hostiles, another teammate might be taken down
trying to save the first one. Be fast because the downed teammate
will not last for long. Once it is safe, equip the medkit, stand
over him, press R3, look at him, and press X. This
will heal him and he will be healed.
Spreading out munitions
Just do not give too much of the powerful items like
tank mines, C4, anti-tank guns, etc. to one person. If you
have this person advance and he gets taken out by a tank, your
other teammates might not have the firepower required to even get
close to the downed person, let alone heal him. It is always a
good idea to have each teammate equipped with at the least one
high powered explosive in case you need to take out a tank or something else.
Destroying helicopters
When a Hind appears, it will hover above you and start
shooting. Do not bother with the rockets; just use a sniper rifle
and shoot at the belly twice.
To take out an enemy helicopter easier, switch to Bradley, pull
out his M-16, switch to the M-203 (grenade launcher), and shoot
the helicopter. It will only need one hit.
Patriotic Defense: Hidden items
Go around the place with the limousine. There should
be a staircase to the left. Climb it. When you reach the Bradley
there will be three artillery strikes. You have to jump off to
see the tanks. Be careful while aiming at them. If you are close to them,
you can be killed. Take Connors with you if he has any anti-tank
weapons. There are more than three tanks and plenty of infantry.
Then, go down the road that you were on. The infantry will be
gone, but there is still one there. Throw a smoke grenade
and plant a C-4. Run once the tank is destroyed. Go to the machine
gun nest to locate are RPGs and med kits.
The Invasion Of Kuwait: Easy insertion
Instead of using the path under the bridge, go across
the bridge and hide in the building with the guns. Shoot the soldiers
as they come into view.
The Invasion Of Kuwait: Shortcut
Instead of following the main road to the base, take
a right after the first bridge. Follow the canyon to the bridge
you have to blow up then go under it. You will come across a BMP.
Take out your LAW 88 anti-tank rocket launcher before you go under
the bridge. Then, walk up the canyon until you locate a slope to
your right. Walk up the slope and you will find yourself back
on the main road. Follow it until you find the building where
Foley is being held. Release him then do what is needed
to finish the mission.
Destroying heavy armor tanks
Locate the man with C4s and give his detonator to someone
else. Keep everyone back except for the man who has the C4. Then swiftly
run to the tank and plant the C4. When you are finished, get another
troop to call him back. When he runs back, the tank should be
focused on him. Change to the man with the detonator and use it.
If this works, everyone should make it out alive. However, if
he does not happen, you can clear the area then heal him.
You can trick the tanks by using any of your men but not the demolitions
man and create a diversion on the side of the tank opposite to
your team. Get the man next to the tank so that he will not be
harmed, then switch to the demolitions man. While the tank is
looking at the other man, sneak up to it, plant a C4 explosive,
and run.
Last resort attack on tanks
If you need to take out a tank but have no more long
range rockets, it is possible to get close to it without getting
hit. First, you will need to have a sniper rifle to zoom in on
the top of the tank to take out the gunner, if there is one. After
he is killed, throw a smoke bomb in the direction of the tank. Try
to get the smoke bomb in as close to it as you can. While the
smoke is in the air, you can run up to the tank without being
hit. The smoke will make it hard for the tank to see you.
Get directly next to the tank and plant a C4 next to it. After
it is planted, throw another smoke bomb a bit further away
from the tank. Make a mad dash for the smoke. If you are quick
enough, you will get behind the wall of smoke and can then make
your way to safety. Then, set off the C4.
If you have C4 with a detonator, run to the tank, crouch, plant
the C4, then swiftly run away. When you get roughly 10 feet away,
use the detonator to explode the C4.
Getting past tanks
If you run out of grenades, anti-tank weapons, anti-air weapons, C4 or
anything else that can destroy a tank, use this trick to get past them. First, kill all the enemy soldiers
around. Make sure the gunner of the tank is gone. You can
kill him with a sniper shot. Take only one person and have him
run at the tank, With smoke bombs equipped, throw a smoke bomb
before the tanks can shoot at you. If all went as planned, you should be
standing exactly next to the tank, only it cannot blow you up.
Next, move yourself around the tank, to make the barrel point
in a second area away from where your group must go. Have the
rest of your team run to cover, past the tank. Then have the Man
who is standing next to the tank look at where his team is now
at. Make sure they are in cover then throw a smoke bomb
and run. If all goes well, you should get past the tank without
dying. This trick works well in the level where you must
escort Dr. Franklin to the sewers.
Tank mines
On certain levels, tank mines can be annoying.
Instead of getting your worst man to go out and run on the mines,
throw a grenade on them and they should explode.
Destroying SCUDs
On thw level like the SCUD Alley, if you have run out of
rockets, C4 and grenades, due to unexpected tanks, etc., SCUDs
can be destroyed with the Bradley's grenade launcher or by machine
gunning them.
Weak spots on tanks
Every tank has a very heavy front and side armor. However,
the tank's rear is lightly armored. Smaller tanks can be hit with
a rocket almost anywhere and will normally explode. However, larger
tanks must be attacked with an explosive from behind. If you shoot
it from the front or side, chances are you will not even make
a dent in it.
To take out the tanks with the satellite dish on top, shoot the
satellite dish with a sniper rifle and the tank will now explode.
Destroying tanks
When you see a tank, take two people,
Foley and Jones. Have Foley shoot out the gunner. The turret should
now rotate a full 360 degrees checking where the
shot came from. At this point, switch to Jones and run straight
at the tank. It is essential that you reach the tank as soon as
possible. As soon as you reach it, hold Circle to lay down.
Foley should snipe off the incoming soldiers. As you are behind
the tank, they will not hit you and instead cause damage to the
tank. Plant a C4 and detonate it. Just let Jones blow up with
it. Jones will be dead on the floor behind a tank. At this time, switch to Bradley and have everyone
follow. Rush forward using the tank for cover, shooting as
you run then heal Jones. This trick can be used for just about
any tank, even moving ones. Just run up behind them, fire a shot
at the back of them and they will stop, allowing you to plant
the explosive.
To kill tanks easier, equip a mine and plant it directly in front
of it. Note: You will die when doing this; make sure you have
a second
soldier ready to heal you.
Have Foley use his scope. If you see a tank that has what appears
to be a satellite dish on top, scope in with Foley. Shoot the
satellite dish roughly three to five times and the tank will explode.
Note: Not all tanks will have a satellite dish.
In any level, if you have to face a tank but do not have any
anti-tank missiles and need to get close to it to plant C4, do this:
Take Jones and any other character. When nearing the tank,
make sure you are not near anything that is high out of the ground
(buildings, trees etc.). If you are not, then this lowers the
chance of being hit by a shell. Once near the tank, use Jones to plant the C4, and the
other character to defend him from incoming fire. Once the
C4 is planted, follow the same path you took to go to the tank,
and when cleared enough, blow up the tank.
Have Jones throw a smoke grenade directly at the tank so it cannot
see you. Run to it, then plant a C4 on it. Be careful not to be run ovever by it, then throw another smoke grenade and run and detonate.
Soldier on reserve
When you are nervous about something coming up, for
example, a tank and you do not have C4 or any missiles, instead
of putting all your men on the line, put one on reserve. This way, if all the other soldiers
do go down a
health bar, there is one to heal them. In worst-case scenario,
if all the others die beyond medical help, you still have one
person still, which is better than dying completely.
Change soldier color
You can also change the color of your soldier from white
to black or black to white by blowing him up with a grenade and
finishing the level. Note: He will lose a lot of experience
so do this
early.
Easier stats
If you desire to have Foley to calm himself quicker in between
shots with his sniper rifle, enable the "Cheat mode"
code. Then select a short and easy mission (like the Safe Passage, Special
Delivery, etc.). It does not matter which team you choose (U.S.
Delta Force or British SAS). Do these missions continually for
three times. Foley should receive a level increase, be promoted a
rank, get a Sniper skill star, and if your accuracy is high enough,
a service medal. This trick will only work if Foley gets above 65%
accuracy on the missions.
AT mines
Use this trick if you are tired of always
stepping or driving over AT mines (Cavalry Charge is also good for
this). First, clear out the area of Iraqi infantry and armor.
Then set Foley and Conners up on a hilltop, either lying down or crouching,
and have Jones and Bradley move in the area where the mines are
at. Have Bradley out of harms way, away from any explosives
to cover Jones. If you can, have Jones move as far as he can
into the minefield. Have him set a brick of C4, then run back
out the way you went in. Detonate the C4 and you will have an alley
that your men and M2 tank can move through. If you are out of
C4, frag grenades do the same thing, but do not have th coverage
like the C4 does.
Last resort attack on SCUDs
SCUDs can be blown up with the sniper rifle if they
are in the launch position. Shoot the rocket a few times with
it.
Charge the enemy
The game sends an unlimited amount of troops after the
alarm has been set. The best way to defend yourself is to charge
ahead as quickly, but also as safely, as you can. In some levels
you can cut down the number of men by almost fifty. If you are
low on ammunition, health, etc., this is a way to cut down
on the amount of men you have to deal with. It also works a few times
if you send a man far ahead and hold him there, then do your objectives
for your mission.
Once the alarm has been raised, an unlimited number of enemies
will start originating from certain points in the level like the
barracks, campsites, or sometimes level boundary lines. The only
way to stop these enemies is to find the point at which
they are appearing from and "secure" it. In other words,
you have to kill all the enemies in this area (or building) and
stay there for a minute or two to make sure no more show up.
This way, you can systematically shut down the enemy's "points
of origin", then finish the level even after the alarm
has been set off. |
