Hints & Tips

Easy dynasty mode
Before you start dynasty mode, trade Deshauwn Stevenson and Jameer Nelson for Brad Miller. Now start dynasty mode, then play with Miller for five games wel. Be sure you win every game. Then, trade Brad Milller for Okufor on the Bobcats. You will win every game. Be sure you do not trade Francis, Howard, Hill, Cato, or Mobley. Now Mobley will try to leave at the end of the season so resign him.

Use this trick to get an overall boost in dynasty mode. While your in dynasty mode, go to "Roster Management". Then go to "Edit Player". Go to "Information", then change either the player's first position, second position, or number. Verify the changes. The player should get a boost in overall. Note: A few players will go lower in overall if you change them, like Emeka Okafor and Amare Stoudamire.

Just go to the "Settings" option at the start menu. Go to "Rules". Turn off every rule except the shot clock. You can now run out of bounds, travel, and foul.

Simply start a season or dynasty mode. Choose your team then go to the roster management screen. Now select "Edit Player". You will then be able to set every stat of all your players to 99. You should be able to win any games you play. Try to play as the New York Knicks and the only team you will have a chance of losing to is the Boston Celtics.

Easy points
In order to get easy points, give the ball to your PG and use [Direct Switch] with your best dunker on the team. Then, set a pick and roll for the PG. Now move your person in the opposite direction of where the PG moved. When you are a few steps from the basketball, press [Alley-Oop]. This will work 80% of the time. The best teams for this are those that have flashy players.

Franchise ratings change
If you do have a franchise, go to "Roster Management" and select "Edit Player". Then choose any of your starters and put any pair of Jordan sneakers on that player. You will see a ratings change on all five starters.

Easy dynasty points
Play a game within the rookie difficulty in dynasty mode and obtain 20 shots in a row. Do dunks and play against a team with no shot blockers. You will obtain over 2000 dynasty points.

Simulate dynasty to the playoffs or pass the playoffs to the off-season. You should receive a message on your PDA that states that you have received NBA Store points.The amount will vary. Now go to NBA Store to see how many points you have, then leave. Save the settings but do not save the dynasty. Then go to the main menu and load your settings. Go to NBA Store and buy items. When your out of points, save your settings and redo this.

Guarding
When your playing defense, if you have trouble guarding the ball carrier try switching control to one of your big men down low in the paint and "roam" the key while your CPU teammate does the work up top guarding the ball carrier. This will put you in position to stop penetration easily and force your opponent to shoot from the outside. If the man you choose to control is also a Big Blocker he should be able to turn away even the best offensive players with fearsome blocks and in-air collisions. By playing tough defense is your key to wining when your playing against the toughest opponents.

No look or behind the back pass
Simply press [Hop Step] before the player land pass the ball. He should execute a no look pass or a behind the back pass. You may want to go to the replay to see it at some of the camera angles you cannot see it occur.

No three pointers
Simply choose to play at the 1950s All-Star arena. There will be no three point line and all shots are worth two points.

Better season mode team
Start a new season. Now before anything else, go to "Free Agents", and sign the highest rated free agents you can find, like Alonzo Mourning, and Karl Malone. Replace good free agents similar to them with your weaker bench players. With more high rated people on your team, you will be able to make more trades to get good players on you team.

When your playing in season mode, go to the "Roster Management" section then enter the sign/release area. Now go through all the teams and group all of the best fifteen players and sign them onto your team. You will have to release a few of your current team players to get the better players. But they will not come up under your team's trade players list.

When your in season mode when trading, look for teams with one or more spots available on their roster. You can trade two or more lower ranked players for one of their higher-ranked people. Keep on doing this with teams. You can then get even better people on your team. By using this and the earlier mentioned "Better season mode team" hint will not be as effective in dynasty mode, because of the salary cap. But in season mode, it does not matter. By using both hints, it is possible to have a team with Allen Iverson, Shaq, Yao Ming, Peja Stojakovic, Manu Ginobili, and other good players.

There is an easier way to change a horrible team into a great team to use in dynasty mode. Trade every bad player to other teams for great players before you begin the dynasty. For example, before you start dynasty mode with Atlanta, trade their starting five players for Shaq, Duncan, Mike Dunleavy, Kobe, and Gilbert Arenas. After you do this, save the settings, then begin the dynasty.
