Hints & Tips
Cheerleader and Pump Up Crowd Cards Finish the "Game Situation" challenges in mini-camp mode
completely. The Cheerleader or Pump Up Crowd Cards for the team
used will be available.
Madden Cards and game cheats Obtain a gold rank in any event on the All Pro, Pro and
Rookie levels in mini-camp mode.
Always receive at kickoff When you first choose teams,
select the keyboard. After you select "Play Game", keep pressing
D after the game
is loaded. About 95% of the time, you will
receive the ball.
Easy interceptions While your in defense, choose
the play Nickel-Normal, go to cover 2. Now that you chose the
play move your line in, your LB to the left, and your coverage
in. Note:
This will only work 85% of the time in rookie mode, sometimes in
pro, if you are lucky on all-pro, and almost never in all-Madden
settings.
Easy sacks If you have Bill Callahan's
defensive playbook, go to Nickle defense and scroll down until
you locate Middle Blitz. Select that play then shift both your
line and your LBs inside. You should have a sack 85% of the
time.
When your on defense, enter the 4-3.
Locate
the Man Buzz play. Flip the play until the blitzing outside
linebaker is blitzing on a side where there are no TEs, and
no RBs. Shift your D-Line and LBs to the outside.
Your outside LB should be able to get to the QB cleanly, and
have a sack.
Choose a play where the middle
linebacker blitzes and move the left DT to the center block the
center. This will work 70% of the time.
When your in franchise mode create a
player as a left end. Now make him 6' 3" tall and 350 pounds.
Have him all muscle. Then, sign him to your roster and improve
all of his stats. Next, go to "My Madden" and turn "Off Sides"
off. Then, play a game and have your left end go off to the side
of the player who is guarding him and have him run. Because off
sides is off, he will not go off sides, and there will be of a
barrier. After the ball is snapped, he will start moving and the
man who is guarding him will turn and face you. But since your
player is fast, most of the time he will outrun him. If not, run
into him and knock him down with a rip move. There will be an
open lane and he will either get sacked or make a bad pass and
you will likely intercept it.
Add stats to Bio Each time you simulate a season, if your team makes the
playoffs it raises the stats on your EA Bio. You only have to
save the Bio, and not your season.
Determine if defense is playing man
to man coverage First eend a player in motion.
If a defensive player follows him, then the corners are playing
man to man coverage. Just remember that the safeties may have
zone and a LB could cover a WR.
Easy defense If you have a lead and know
that the opposing team is about to pass, the best defense is the
Quarter Cover 2. Now spread the line and bring the coverage in.
Then, take control of one of the CBs and the DE should take care
of the outside blocker, whether it be a TE or a OT. This should
leave you with a wide open lane to the QB. You may give up a few
runs up the middle, but if you are fast enough with the
playmaker, make the defense come in and that is covered.
Place five men on the line and put your
quarterback in a regular position. Now put three runningback, and give it to the one on the
left side. You should get plenty of yards because of the
other RBs blockage.
A good back if you are right on your
cap is Thomas Jones. He is rated about 73, but if you work
him up in the training camp and have a good preseason with him,
he will be a lot better. He will not score on each carry, but do
not only give it to him two times. In time he will break a
great 40 or 50 yard run.
Easy punt return touchdowns Simply chose "Block Punt" then
when they come out, audible to a middle punt return. This will
work 85% of the time.
Easy blocked punts Just chose "Punt Return
Middle", then "Audible" to block a punt roughly 95% of the time.
Take your RE and press
[Left](4x's).
Then rush the punter and you should slip past the line.
Simply choose "Punt Block" and be the
defender furthest on the left shown by the X.
x**********
2000000

P
Shoot through the gap between "1" and
"2". "3" will not try to block now go right for the punter and
tackle him or try to block the punt. Be sure not to get too
close to "2", as he could block you.
Go to the "Goal Line" defense.
When
there, select the play named "Gaps Fire". When both teams are
set, control the middle linebacker. When the punter yells for
the snap, blitz down the middle with the middle linebacker. You
should penetrate the line without no trouble. When you have
the middle linebacker close to the punter, jump. This should
let you to block the punt. This should work
well if your opponent's line of scrimmage is
inside their own five yard line.
As soon as you have stopped the CPU and
they are ready to punt the ball away, on the formation select
screen instead of choosing "Punt Block", choose "Field Goal
Block", which will bring everyone down to block the punt. Before the
ball is snapped for the punt, move the man at the far left
downfield to receive the punt,
in case the punter gets the ball off. This trick will work
within every difficulty setting, including All-Maddenm and
if you have a fast lineman and linebackers.
Simply go to "Goal Line", find "Blitz
C", and select it. You will block the punt 80 to 85% of the
time.
Top run defense and high sack
average Just use a 4-3 Normal Defense,
Fireman, DL shift up, LB shift down, Coverage shift down. Nickel
Normal, Middle Blitz, with two options:
1. LB shift down, DL shift up,
Coverage shift down
2. LB shift up, DL shift down, Coverage shift down
To do these, you need to have good DBs.
An average DBs will let up gains of 10-15 yards if they cannot jam.
Easy onside recovery Choose "Onside Kick", move the
arrow as low as you can, then kick a full kick. The returning
team will drop the ball and give you a chance to recover iy.
Choose "Onside Kick". Set it far as you
can to right and far down as you can. Then, kick as hard as you
can. You will have a good chance of getting the ball.
Easy fumbles Go to Mini Camp mode. Now do the LB
Chase And Tackle. Do it under the rookie difficulty
setting, and when you are skilled enough, advance to the pro
setting. Obtain a gold trophy in the mini camp drill. Do not waste
your time in the game situation. You will get a Silver
Fumbilitis. Now use the card in a game. This card raise your
chances of getting a fumble by 50%.
Easy first down or more When you create a playbook,
make a formation with the quarterback one step back from the
center, and the halfback in the same spot as the
quarterback, only behind the left tackle. Now make a custom route
for him. Have him run straight towards the QB, then streak as
soon as he reaches the outside of the offensive line. Then have the
fullback out as a receiver going for a 25 yard post. Have the
left side receiver go for a 25 yard streak, and make a custom
for the right receiver. Have him go
straight for 5 yards, have a two second delay, then post left.
At the time he starts his post, the fullback should be
starting his, and the defense re-adjusts to cover both men,
leaving enough time to get the ball to your open halfback.
This will work about 90 percent of the time.
Easy two point conversion When you score a touchdown, go to "Special Teams", then
choose "Fake Fieldgoal Pass". When you snap the ball, the CPU
will drop back into coverage, which lets your quarterback
rollout and run it in, or pass it to your tight end.
After you make a touchdown, go in the "Goal
Line" playbook then select the "HB Pitch" play.
Then run the play as
it is and you will be assured a two point conversion
usually.
After you do score the touchdown, go to
"Special Teams" then select "HB Direct Snap". It will give the
ball to the HB, and not the kicker. The HB can take one step and
go in for the two points.
After you score a touchdown, if you want
to go for a two point conversion instead of choosing the special
teams formation, choose goal line and press the button that
matches the FB Dive and run it in for an easy two
point conversion. Note: This
will work 98% of the time.
Easy points and tokens on Two Minute
Drill In order to get easy points on
two minute drill, go for running plays. Be sure you score a
touchdown or you will not get enough points. By the end of the
drill, you will be given bonus points and receive least 355
tokens for one drill. Note:
Go for four drills to get plenty of tokens, but be sure you play
against a weak defense like the Claymores.
Simply play as the Vikings against the
Claymores. Be sure Moss is running a Fly Route and that no one
else is running a route close to him. Then hike the ball, wait a
few seconds, and lob it up to Moss. This will work 95% of the
time.
Instead of passing to players, run the
ball. Play against the Amsterdam Admirals and use a team that
has a good running back and run it the entire time. Most
likely, you will break a run and obtain a touchdown, if you are
skilled at running the ball. Also, the points are a lot higher
if you run for a touchdown and you will get several tokens.
Simply play as the Vikings or 49ers and
against the Admirals. Be sure that Terrell Owens or Randy Moss
is on the right side running a fly route on every play and that
no one else is running a route close to them. Then, wait a few
seconds and lob it to Moss or Owens. They should run past the
defender with their speed, and you can run it in for an easy
touchdown.
To obtain over 70 points and close to 40,000
points in Two Minute Drill, play as the Rams and use both the
Shotgun-Normal-Hail Mary and Shotgun-4WR-Hail Mary plays. Then use
both these formations every few plays to throw off the
defense. Throw to Marshall Faulk while in the normal formation
after you have moved him to the left or right and you should
have a touchdown 96% of the time. Play against a European
team like Barcelona and you should do good.
In order to get easy tokens in
Two-Minute Drill, set the CPU defense to the Amsterdam Admirals
and set the difficulty to All-Madden. Then set the offense to
the Atlanta Falcons and start. When your game begins, pause and
go to "Coaching Strategies". Go to "Substitutions", and find the
Field Goal formation. Then substitute the QB already in the play
with Michael Vick, and begin the drill. Call all Pass plays, and
instead of passing, run with Vick. Normally, you can get it in
in one play. After the TD, call a Fake Field Goal now pass for
your extra point. Again, instead of passing, run the ball in
with Vick, and you will receive more points. Repeat this until
the Drill is done.
Play as the Rams against the Thunder.
Be sure Kurt Warner is the quarterback, and Isaac Bruce is
playing. Be sure that you have Mike Martz's playbook. Then set
up the Shotgun 4-WR. Run the Hail Mary play and throw a light
touch pass to Isaac Bruce. You will score a touchdown usually. Then, go for two and run Goal-Line. Run the Outside
Toss play then run to the outside. They will move in the corner
back giving you a clear shot. If they do not, call a
fake audible and they will pull them usually. If
they do not start running to the outside, then sharply cut
into the edge of the line and stay at least three yards away
from any line backer. Keep on doing this repeatedly to earn
plenty
of tokens.
Simply play as the Vikings against the
Dragons. Now select the Hail Mary and throw it to Moss in the
corner. Wait for awhile to let him get open and you will receive
a high score.
Select a bad team like the Claymores
and change their rosters around. For example, put the punter as
the QB and switch the whole roster so that their overall rating
is 12. Then, go to Two Minute Drill and choose the Vikings. Now
play
against the Claymores in All Madden and keep on passing it to Moss.
Easy tokens Just go to "Rosters" and select
the Green Bay Packers' Wide Receivers. Now make Donald Driver
6'8'' or taller in his bio. Next, go out and go play the two
minute drill with the Packers as your team and the Amsterdam
Admirals as the defense. Then, go to Shotgun formation, then to
Shotgun 4WR and locate Hail Mary. Keep on throwing touchdowns to
Donald Driver. Throw bombs because of his height he should catch
it. After your done with the two minute drill, go to your Madden
Cards and save your profile. Next, buy a pack of cards. When you
have 250 cards out of 285 cards, you will get a lot of repeats.
You may have 400 points and get nothing. This is why you should
save your game before you buy the cards, so that you get a
second chance at getting a card that you do not already have and
do not waste your points on cards you have.
Easy stadium When your in owner mode off
season, you will have the chance to create a new stadium twice.
One is when you can go to stadium mode and you can chose
rebuild, or relocate. In both areas you will have a chance to
create a new stadium. Most of the time if you create a bad
stadium, you will have your proposal refused because you do not
have the money. Get $300 million then create a stadium that has
one section at least of press, and one section of press and
luxury. The rest can be finished off as you like. Then, on the
"Secure Funds" section, make it so that the team provides the
most money it can, making it so that the board has more approval
for the stadium. Note:
If you relocate to a city that has a desire for a sports team
like Los Angeles or Boston, their approval will be higher.
Easy money in owner mode While your playing your franchise in
owner mode, wait until you play a home game. While your playing, go
to menu options and save your game. Quit your game
and exit out of franchise mode. Reload your franchise
game, and repeat as many times as you need. The trick will work off
your ticket sales for that game. For example, if you make $5
million a game, multiply that by the number of times you
saved/quit/reloaded. If you do it ten times, then you will make
$50 million in ticket sales for that game.
Before you face a team that is bad, go to owner mode and select "Advertising". Max out
everything, then go to Fan Appreciation Day and choose the top
option. This would be what the crowd would like the most. Get
your win. After the game, go to
owner mode and select "Advertising". Put everything down to
zero. If you win you should receive $6 to 7 million.
Players become coaches The great players that retire
in franchise mode can return to be coaches. Wait a few years
after your favorite star retires, and he will show up in the
coaching free agent list to be signed as an assistant or head
coach.
In owner mode, go through a couple
seasons, then in the off-season select "Staff". Select "Hire
Coach". You can select old players as head, offensive,
defensive, and special teams coaches.
Free advertising Before a home game, put all advertising up and play your
game. After the game, do not sim week. Now go out and set the
advertising to zero. Sim week and you will receive 100%
attendance, but pay nothing.
Quick blitz If you wish to blitz fast, go
to the setting menu, then choose "Penalty", and turn off
"Offsides". You can now run before the play.
Getting good players Go into owner mode and create a player. Keep his stats low
and sign him to your team for the maximum number of years at a
minimum salary. Then, return to the player creation screen, and
change his attributes to full. You will be able to keep the
player through the length of his contract for the original low
salary.
While your in franchise or owner mode, when
your asked to input players at the end of a season, start this by
doing the regular offseason methods. When the next screen
appears, go to your features to create-a-player. Now create your
player, but make his attributes between 12 to 20. Then save the
player, then go to offseason features until you get to re-sign
free agents. Begin the bargaining step on your created player
and sign him. When the main screen
appears, go back into the features and highlight your created
player you signed. Go to attributes and raise every
attribute to 99. Notice that although the overall rating goes
up, the salary stays the same.
Check to see what teams you are
playing. Then, create a player with a 99 overall rating. A WR
will
work best as they are not used every play on offense. Now sign the
free agent, then go to trade block. Look at what your
needs are to make your team better are. Put the created player
on the block. Ask for the two positions with a rating of 90 you
need the most and a first round draft pick. You can get
a first rounder with a 90 to 95 player depending on what
position your asking for. When you do trade, try to get the best deal
from teams that you will not face. You can do this with three to five created characters, depending on the deals that
you get and the needs of your team. This is easy because you do
not have to spend any time creating the player and you benefit
by trading to teams you do not play.
Note: This
trick only works in franchise mode. To have A good first round
draft pick each year, create a player IN the season. Make his
quarterback accuracy and power 100. if any other stats are made
better he will to costly to sign. He will be added to the free
agents. Go to rosters and search for all the teams in the NFL
that have a bad quarterback. Most of the time, the team who has
a bad quarterback will also have a bad season. When you have
found the team with the worst quarterback, go to "Free Agents"
under "Roster", and sign the player you created to a one year
deal. When this is done, go to "Trades" under "Roster". Trade
your created player to the team that had the worst quarterback
for their first and second round draft pick. Then go to create a
player and adjust the attributes of the quarterback you traded
and make him 12 overall. Now you will have the team's first and
second draft pick, and they will have a bad quarterback.
In order to get great players, create a
player, in a position that you need who is only 18. Make him
rated 75 overall. After training camp, pre-season, and a good
season, you can have a player close to 83 overall. Then later
you can produce a 99 overall player.
In order to have a good team with just
one player or more and a low salary, create a player that would
be bad at his position. Sign him for as cheap as you can without
a bonus for seven years. A bonus would make your pay more in the
long run. Now change his rating to perfect and make him good to
a position which is common to his position on offense/defense.
For example, WRs can be good secondary players and defensive
lineman can be good offensive lineman, or if they are smaller
and fast a fullback or tight end.
Note: You
need to have Corey Dillon or the Bengals for this trick. To get
a good spot at the NFL draft, trade Corey Dillon for their first
or second draft picks. They will normally accept. You will now
have two good draft picks.
When you are playing a franchise, wait
until it reaches week 6. Check to see who has the worst record
in the league. Now go to that team and trade your first round pick
for their first round pick. Even if you are 6-0 and they are
0-6, they will accept 95% of time.
Go into the roster before you go into the
franchise. Then make a player for any position and make his ratings
terrible. His overall should be 12. Start a franchise and sign the created player. As a 12
overall, you can sign him to a seven year deal for $1.75
million and $350,000 bonus. Export the team. leave the
franchise, and go back into the roster. Import your exported
team. You can now adjust his ratings to all 99's. His salary
will not change. Note:
In five, six, and seven seasons, you will not be able to keep
this team. Contracts will skyrocket for these players when they
run out. Then pick a few team leaders, keep them, and use the
rest to trade for good draft picks. You will own the first round
of the draft and should remain good enough to win the Super
Bowl, even after you dismantle the team. Trade your original
players before they retire to get great players, keeping your
team among the elite always.
At the end of the season in franchise
mode when your signing coaches, go to coaching postions. Be the coach
of the team that the desired player is on. Then in the
season, trade between the teams you coach. At the end of the
next season, go back to coaching positions and quit coaching
that team. This will also allow you to take their draft picks.
If you think you have a good draft
pick, go to "Sign Draft Picks" and select that player. If he is
asking for $60 million, he should be over 80 overall.
Just create a QB and make his overall
stats as low as you can. Sign him, then put his stats up. Now
trade him to any team for one or two of their good people. After
you trade, go back to the create a player option and set his
stats back down.
Just play as the Rams in a fantasy
draft. They will alway get a low draft pick.
Go into franchise mode and trade you
first, second, and third round draft pick for a bad team's
first, second, and third round draft picks before the trade
deadline. You will get to pick first if they continue to play
badly. This will work most of the time, but it depends on the
team's performance at the end.
When you select franchise mode at the
main menu, you will be asked how many teams you want to
control. Set that number to 32. After doing this, be sure
owner mode is on. In the draft be sure to get a good
player at every position for just one team. For every other
team, give them the lowest player. After eighteen
to twenty rounds you will not be able to sign any more good
players; make those twenty picks worth it. Simulate the rest of the
draft, allowing the CPU to get a few good players also.
Simulate the training camp, preseason, regular season, and
playoffs if you make it. In the off-season, select "Coaching
Strategies" and there should be an option to make every team
but the one you created to be good controlled by the CPU. You
now have 29 years to create a winning franchise. When a player
gets old, trade him for a younger player at his
position who is also good.
When it is your turn to draft, simulate the
whole draft. Then go to sign draft picks and give them
what they want. Then, simulate that. After the wait, go
to "League News" then "Draft Summary". Look at the league's draft. View the players stats, display his ratings.
Scroll down until you find your draft position. You can now
draft any player after that. Do this for each round. Make a
note of the names of the players that you want.
In order to get good players for
franchise mode, edit a team's roster before you start your
franchise. You can trade anyone on your team without a problem,
as long as you have cap room. Then, start a new franchise with
your altered rosters. If you run out of money, edit older
players so that their stats are at overall 12. Now release, then
resign, then re-raise their stats. If done right, you will have
a strong team with cheap veterans.
Now use this trick to get a good team
in franchise mode with no high salary cost. Start a new
franchise. Pick a team. Do a fantasy draft and pick all the
worst players. Then, release them and make your team from
scratch, through create-a-player mode. When done with the
height, faces, etc., do not change the attributes. Now save the
player and sign him. When you sign him, return to
create-a-player. Select his name and change all his attributes
to the max. Repeat this until you have a stacked team. The
reason that all the worst players were selected is to keep you
from having a high cap penalty in the next season.
When your scouting players for the draft,
be sure to look at a player's classification before you decide to
draft them. Also, OLs that specialize in either run or pass
blocking are only good at that skill if they are not projected a
first-rounder. When your drafting a Scrambling QB, if his arm
strength or accuracy are above average or average, his rating
will be 65 to 70, if he is a Pocket QB with an above
average or average throw accuracy or power, his rating will be
75 or 80. It is usually wise to draft a scrambler if you want
a better all around quarterback, as it is easier to
raise their throwing ability than their speed, agility and
quickness.
IWhen your in Franchise mode, wait untill week
6, then search for the team with the worst projected record by
year's end. Now swap draft picks with them. When it is time to go to the NFL draft, do not
go into the
draft. Instead, go to trade and see what you can get for your
first round pick, since most draft picks are not that good.
Attempt to get an 11 or 12 pick. For a
stronger offense, do offense first pick and defense second pick
and so on, or vice versa for defense. If you want a strong
special teams, pick a punter and kicker in the low twenties. Do
not simulate, as they will give stronger players to CPU
controlled teams.
Dante Hall is rated 99 at KR, but not
well at WR. This will make it easy to trade him. A second
Round Draft Pick, or another decent WR, will trade Dante Hall
onto any team you want him on.
Go into franchise mode and make a
player in any position that you want to get traded for. Then set all
his stats to 99. Then, sign him from the free agency. Place him on
the trade block and trade him for a good player. After
that, return to the create-a-player screen and lower all his
stats to 12. In doing this, the other team will have a big
salary cap, and no good players.
In order to ensure that you do not
waste early round draft picks on busts or poorly rated players,
carry out "Player Retirement" and "Re-Sign Players" in the off
season mode. Then, save the franchise and go to "Sign Free
Agents". Then, look at the stats for all the rookie players,
especially for positions that you want to address in the draft.
Next, leave franchise mode and load your game. You will then be
able to pick the best available player left for each position.
This is useful for kickers and punters, as the scout report
ratings often do not translate into their final stats. Also, to
improve the quality of draft picks you sign, save your franchise
before you advance to the normal off season mode. Then, go into
the off season and check out the NFL Draft Info section, which
can be located in the League News section. Go to "Draft
Preview", and check out what talent is available at each
position. If the talent in the draft pool is not what you like,
exit franchise and re-load until you get a draft pool that you
want.
Get under the salary cap Go to "Rosters", then go down
to "Resign Players". Sign your players to seven year contracts.
This will give more money usually. This is a good way
to get more money before the off season to obtain those highly paid
players.
Low salaries for star players Before you start a season or
franchise, go to "View Rosters" and edit every player's
attribute. When you do this, his salary will not go up but his
overall skill will. Do this with younger players so you have
them longer and they do not retire in franchise mode.
If you do create a character that is
maxed out in everything and has a high salary, trade him for
either a draft pick or, look into the salary section while your
trading and sort it out. The lowest, yet best player is yours.
Try this with a maxed out CB at age 24 and see what occurs when
you trade him for Champ Bailey and maybe a first or second
draft pick.
Just make a player and get him on a low
rating. Then, sign him and he should be on low salary for seven
years. After you sign him, set him to a 99 rating. Then, play
for six years. On the seventh year on the playoffs, put him on a
low rating so that when you sign him, he will not ask for a high
salary. Then, when you resign the player in the off-season, it
will be on a low salary deal. Place him back to a 99 rating.
Note:
You can make as many created players as you like; once they
retire you can make more to get your team on a good rating.
Extremely bored crowd Obtain the highest amount of points you can in the game.
After this, if you get an interception, touchdown, etc., the
fans will not have any reaction and seen bored.
