Cheat Usage Information

Command-Line Shortcut
If you come across a cheat that ask''"s you to add a string to the end of a game's shortcut (like "-console"), this is what's normally called a Command-Line Shortcut. In order to make this change, follow the instructions below.

1. Press "Start" and navigate to the icon (or shortcut) for the game. Or find the shortcut on your desktop.
2. Right-click on the icon for the game, then select properties.
3. In the "Target" box you'll find the location of the game (ie: "C:\Program Files\Game\play.exe"). This is where the change have  to be made.
4. Add the Command-Line Shortcut to the end of the line (ie "C:\Program Files\Game\play.exe" -console).
5. Once you have made the change, select OK to save.

Trainers
A “trainer” is a third-party program designed to change memory locations of running programs (games).  For trainers to work, they must be running simultaneously with the game they were written for.  It is best to start the game first, and then actually begin playing the game, then switch back to Windows (using Alt + Tab) and run the trainer.  Select the options you desire and switch back to the game. Do not CLOSE the trainer until you are done playing the game.  Since trainers alter SPECIFIC memory locations, they usually only work with specific versions of the game.  This is the most typical problem you’ll run into when trainers appear to be “not working.”

Editors
A editor"is a third-party program written to alter the configuration settings or saved game file of a specific title. Usually, the editor is run while the game is NOT opened because it depends on saved information. It is best to backup the files being edited, because sometimes the editor doesn't work with the version of the game you are playing, resulting in corrupted data.

HexCheat
This is one of the hardest cheat to do. The cheat will normally contain a "hex address" anda value to change it to. You need to use a hex editor in order to use this type of cheat. Hex editing allows you to alter the game by changing values stored in the original .EXE or data files. Remember to always make a backup before trying hex editing.

UGE
UGE is short for "Universal Game Editor". This is a DOS based tool that allows the user UGE modules which allows them to change values in a game. This program is need to use the files with the .uge extension and available for download above.

Gamewizard
This is like the UGE program, where users can create GW tables of data to change values in a game. You will need this program to use the files that have the .gw extension available for download above.

DexDrive Saved Games
The DexDrive will allow you to transfer Console savegame data from a memory card to your PC's hard drive. Then with this device you can download savegames from the Internet and use them with your own game. Most times these savegames open up the whole game for play or have been "edited" to raise the player's statistics.
